We spend 1/3 of our lives sleeping. A significant part of our sleeping time involves Rapid Eye Movement (REM) sleep. Almost a quarter of our time asleep involves REM sleep which scientists attribute to dreaming. Our dreams inhabit a vivid world of its own--partly a product of our waking lives and partly a source of inspiration or distress for our waking lives. Many famous philosophers and thinkers from Plato to Sigmund Freud to Carl Jung dealt with the power of and questioned the significance of dreams.
Dreams inhabit and inform many facets of our culture--from religion to politics to sexuality. Dreams are very powerful. They can also be very confusing. The Dream Pool is a non-scientific, holistic, non-religious project aimed at deciphering dreams based on instinctual/nootropic models.
The Dream pool authors consist of a handful of individuals from differing academic disciplines and backgrounds. Our authors are located in differing countries. We hope these differing cultural perspectives will make for a diverse, nuanced, and enriching experience for our readers.

Hello there
love your site about dreams. This is one of the things I often ponder myself, what are dreams and do they tell me something? I look forward to discovering more from your blog.

Hi,
What a great idea to help people get insight in their dreams. I find kindness and comprehension in the way you talk to your readers. Comfort and support are so much needed, wonderful that you supply just that!
I'll be back to read more!
