Crossing Inner Rivers

blogimageMy friends and I went out for a hike at The American River in Sacramento. It was very hot and dry. Things were going well until we came upon a stream. It seemed like a slow moving stream until we got closer and it got wider. All of a sudden, the area with a lot of brush where we were standing caught fire. I have no idea where the fire came from. My friends started crossing the river and I raced real hard to catch up with them but a wall of flame came between us. I can see their backs as they swam furiously to the other side. My friends made it to the other side. The wall of flame blocked my view. I realized that the whole river caught fire while I was in the middle swimming. I screamed out--then I woke up.

Answer:
You are going through some shared challenges with your friends. That is what the stream/river represents. Your joint venture may have to do something with school or a business or sports. You feel that your friends are better at this venture than you. In effect you are trying to "catch up" to them. Although you get along well with them, there is a sense that you are one of the "lesser" friends in the group. Somebody who is not the leader nor the second in command as evidenced by your placement crossing the river--you are the last guy. You feel that you can't keep up with your friends, you feel that you will either let them down or be embarrassed because you failed while they succeeded. You are very afraid of the "wall of flame"--an incident at school or business or whatever, where your personal strength will be tested. Be strong. If you depend on yourself and rise above your insecurities, you will never feel abandoned.

Although I like your dream intepretations, I beg to differ. Can there be universal rules that can help in intepreting dreams of all people? I doubt so. Dreams are as individual as the people who see those dreams. The best person to intepret the dreams is the one who has seen the dream.
