Drawing strength from family history

Dream

I was eating at a restaurant. There were two other people with me, but I didn’t recognize any of them. It was daylight in my dream, and I was looking around the restaurant. There were other people there, but I could not remember how many. There was large number though as I looked across a large crowd. I was drinking a strawberry milkshake. I could feel the coldness of the beverage in my mouth. As I was feeling the numbness of my inner mouth with my tongue, I could feel that some of my teeth were a bit loose. I opened my mouth and pulled out my upper teeth and it came off. I looked at my hand and there were my teeth like the dentures my grandfather had.

Interpretation

Finding yourself surrounded by such a large group of unfamiliar people indicates an ease or preference for performing in front of people. You are probably in the arts or public speaking or long to be in the arts or public speaking or a related field. The restaurant being a public place further emphasizes this. Losing your teeth means that you are unsure of your self-image and may be suffering from low self-esteem. You are very much concerned with how others perceive you. Outside validation is very important to you. The strawberry milkshake means that your low self-esteem stems from your discomfort with your talents/skills. Part of you feels that you are not a good enough speaker/singer/artist/poet/performer. Take comfort that part of your subconscious is telling you that you are not alone--there is another performer who went through the same experiences in your family: your grandfather. Learn more about him and his experience and see how it can apply to what you're going through.

Wow. I just had a dream the other night about lots of unknown people, and it was very uncharacteristic for me to dream something like that. I was also in a place I didn't know, but it didn't upset me. I just began to get to know it. I have always usually had dreams of my own home, or familiar places.

Dreams offer a wealth of symbols for self-reflection. Each night, we reconnect to our soul that reminds us of infinite freedom is within reach. We separate from this and often deny ourselves of soul reality while awake.
