Fleeing the Wolf from within

I dreamt that I was standing outside my house. It was nighttime. In my dream, I was a soldier and I was carrying a machine gun in my hands. There was a fence before me, and there were trees behind it. I heard some scuffling noises, and then wolves started jumping over the fence towards me. I started shooting at them with my machine gun, but there were just too many of them. I ran away but they gave chase. Somehow I was able to gain some distance from them. I hid in a school, but they were still outside, trying to get in. I woke up in a panic.

Interpretation

Standing guard as an armed soldier outside of your own home at night indicates your current lack of peace of mind. The imagery of armaments, your role as a soldier, and the timing indicates that your insecurity stems from guilt not low self-esteem or feelings of vulnerability. You feel that there's something in your past that must be guarded or protected against. The wolves indicate the consequence of that action--your big fear. Your subconscious seems to be teaching you that dealing with the 'wolves' of your past can only take place if you learn from your past and you learn from your life. This is what the school indicates. You cannot deal with the past just by "realizing" your errors (merely academic or intellectual resolution)--you have to DO something about them. Realizing errors doesn't change the situation--you are still a prisoner inside the 'school'. Making amends is the first step to making the wolves disappear.

Very good post, I guess we all have our own wolves to deal with. I agree about making amends for something you may regret doing. But in some cases, the person you may have done wrong,or not quite right, is deceased. That's a tough one to deal with.
