Dream:The dream opens with this cat lying near a picture of my family. I wanted to catch this cat, and everywhere it went, I chased it. It was a beautiful looking cat, with shiny white fur. It went up the roof of a house and I climbed after it. It jumped onto a nearby tree, and still I went after it. As I was about to pick up the cat, it suddenly grew into the size of a lion and clawed me in the face. I could see there was blood on my hands from the wound, but I don’t remember feeling scared. I woke up after that. What could this mean?
Interpretation
The cat represents a relative or family member that you feel you need to get close to. You chased it and it ran away. This shows that there is a communication gap between you and you feel compelled to fix it. You feel that you will be happy when you can bridge this communication and personal gap. There is a deeper level of communication within families that you feel you lack. People can talk to each other but families often "get" each other. You feel that this level of understanding and "getting" is missing from this member of your family. Hence, you're compelled to give chase.
The sequence of the chase indicates that the chase also takes place throughout your lifetime. Modeling your life after this person, perhaps? You followed the cat up on the roof and on the tree; this signifies that you will succeed in life. The cat growing in size means that this relative or family member will grow "past you", leave you behind, and not care for you anymore. The image of the lion and your placement indicates that this is a REFLECTIVE dream. The cat that turned into a lion reflects part of you and your fears. You fear that by following the path or demands set by a family member, you lose part of yourself. You fear that when you finally "catch" your quarry--attain the success your family expects from you, a key element of your identity is lost or damaged.

hey u have a very good blog and thanks for adding me in u r blogcatalog friend
really heart touching post
Hi,
I find this so interesting how you can interrupt these dreams, are these your dreams, or someone else's? Could you interrupt any one's dream, or would you?
I am just curious, have you had any type of schooling, college, or training in this area, or are you just an avid reader. To me, it seems that your right on the track about the dreams.
You have an amazing gift Laura.Could the lion clawing the face also be the risk of rejection if the cat is caught?
Dream interpretation is always interesting. I'm sure yours is the more professional insight, but I wonder, too, if the sleeky, beauty, shiny cat couldn't be oneself. Jump to new heights and afraid it will all turn about and bite you in the butt... (or scratch you in the face for that matter). Do enjoy analyzing dreams. One local paper here features interpretations of one person with insight each week. Thanks for the read and good luck!
If we live in a place where tradition or culture still held so strong, this kinda of thing often happens, we're losing ourselves for family expectations...well, as for example, when will you get married, oh boy, what an old stuff to ask;)
Anyhow, I love the way you express this idea with your posting here, you managed to articulate your mind & thoughts very well, keep up the good work!
Brilliant entries! I wish I have your gift of discernment!
you may regret adding me; as you will find I cannot help but put in my twopence on the dream interpretations.
I am interested to know how that person felt in seeing the lion emerge.
Very interesting post. As someone who dreams, every sleeping moment, I'll be visiting often:)
Very impressive. Thank you
sukku
I love these interpretations and they make a lot of sense.
Fascinating! Though you state no credits, I can only conclude that your instincts--if these interpretations be based on your instincts--are remarkable. Spot on, Laura. The simple thread of common sense progression and development lead you logically to these conclusions.
Well thought out. Remarkably well developed. Congrats.
Nice idea for a blog. I enjoy my dreams too and find that writing them down the next morning before they drift away helps me figure out what they could possibly mean.
It appears as if you have a talent for interpretation. One that I wish I had.
My issue is that I never recall any dreams I may have. I am not implying that I am dream-less, but that I just don't recall them.
Have you run across this before? If so, is there a way to open the minds-eye to allow these to be remembered?
